Use terms that will be understandable to the patient. Use "gum" for "gingiva," "lower jaw" for "mandible," "a lot of bone loss" for "deleted ridge."
When I want the patient to close their mouth I say "slowly close." I don't say "close slowly" because they will close before I say "slowly." I never tell the patient to "bite" down. "Close" and "bite" are two different terms to the patient.
Which do you think has a more potent meaning for the patient: "big teeth" or "big smile?" Which term you use will depend upon the image you want to implant.
